Robert W. Stegmaier ( 1945 - New York City ) has engaged in all facets
of photography for over forty years. Looking at life through his camera, Bob creates images with people, places and things.
He enjoys the diversity that is possible with photography, with images ranging from the serenity in still life objects to
the dynamics of motion in ballet and flowing water.
While teaching
physics at the University of Hawaii, he photographed the beauty of nature that he saw on the islands. When he joined the United
States Air Force, he had a chance to travel and see a wide variety of people and scenes across America. While in Kansas, Bob
taught photography at the Wichita Art Association for three years and joined professional photography groups and studied with
many professional photographers. He developed a reputation as an accomplished portrait, wedding and commercial photographer.
While assigned to Griffiss Air Force Base, Rome, NY, Bob taught photography at Utica College of Syracuse University and was
involved in the local art scene as the president of the Utica Art Association.
Currently a resident of Chelmsford, MA and New York City, NY. Bob is a Councilor representing the Professional Photographers
of Massachusetts to the Professional Photographers of America. He is a member of the Cambridge Art Association, Chelmsford
Art Society, the Nashua Art Breakfast Club and the Professional Photographers of New England.
His photography has been displayed at many locations throughout New York and New England and published in several
motorcycle, automotive and trade publications.
